Auteur

Auteur is a type-forward portfolio template for designers, photographers, studios, and creative directors who want their work to feel like a printed monograph that scrolls. Paper-first by default with a full dark mode, it pairs an expanded, heavy Archivo display face with a Newsreader serif body for an editorial, gallery-grade voice. The design language is built on oversized kinetic type (weight and tracking shift as you scroll), a numbered editorial index drawn with ink hairlines, a single vermilion accent, and sharp corners. The signature touch: a cursor-tracked floating thumbnail that previews each project as you move through the work list, plus a custom cursor dot — both gracefully disabled on touch. Built with Next.js 15.5 (App Router), React 19, TypeScript (strict), Tailwind CSS v4 with light-dark() theming, Motion, and Lenis. Every project, bio, and link lives in a single content file (lib/projects.ts), so making it yours is just editing data. SEO is handled for you: metadata, structured data, a generated social image, sitemap, and robots.txt.
